Acceptable Use & Email Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
This policy applies to every organization ("Customer") that uses The Sygnal, a platform operated by Digital Barr LLC ("we", "us"). It explains what data Customers may bring to the platform and how email may be sent through it. Using The Sygnal means agreeing to this policy.
1. Only your own, permission-based contacts
You may only upload and email contacts who have a relationship with your organization and who agreed to receive email from you — for example, existing clients, policyholders, or people who asked to hear from you.
Each import requires you to confirm that its contacts gave this permission. We record who confirmed it and when. Contacts from imports without this confirmation cannot be included in email campaigns.
2. Prohibited lists and content
You may not use The Sygnal to send email to, or upload for emailing:
- Purchased, rented, traded or shared lists, or lists from lead brokers or co-registration.
- Addresses harvested or scraped from websites, directories or social networks.
- Role or group addresses (such as info@ or sales@) that did not opt in, or addresses obtained without the owner's knowledge.
- Contacts who unsubscribed from or complained about your email.
Messages must not be deceptive or misleading (including subject lines and sender names), must identify your organization, and must not contain malware, phishing, or content that is illegal where it is sent or received.
3. Required in every email
- A clear way to unsubscribe. The Sygnal adds an unsubscribe link and a one-click unsubscribe header to every campaign message automatically.
- Your organization's valid physical postal address, as required by the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act.
- Accurate "From", "Reply-To" and subject information.
4. Unsubscribes, bounces and complaints
Unsubscribe requests are honored immediately and permanently for your organization. Addresses that hard-bounce or file a spam complaint are suppressed automatically and are never emailed again from your workspace. You may not re-import suppressed addresses to get around this.
5. Sending limits and monitoring
New sending addresses warm up gradually under daily limits. We monitor bounce and complaint rates. If a campaign shows signs of unsolicited email — such as unusually high bounces or complaints — we may pause it, reduce limits, or suspend sending while we review it with you.
6. Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate access, without refund, for violations of this policy. We cooperate with email providers and authorities investigating abuse.
7. Report abuse
If you received unwanted email sent through The Sygnal, use the unsubscribe link in that message, or write to santiago@digitalbarr.com with the message attached. We investigate every report.
